Ahead of the 2024 European Parliament elections, the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior, for Sport and Integration, together with the Bavarian State Ministry for Digital Affairs, launched the Bayern-Allianz gegen Desinformation (“Bavarian Alliance Against Disinformation”). Its goal: to inform, protect, and empower citizens so they can identify disinformation and respond to it appropriately.
The initiative brings together five key areas of action: A package of government measures, Cooperation with international platform operators and tech companies, Support for high-quality journalism and media diversity, Engagement with political actors, Close collaboration with civil society
Together, these partners offer a wide range of initiatives to raise awareness of the risks of disinformation and targeted online manipulation.
The Bayern-Allianz is continuously developed in partnership with its members and complements existing initiatives at the federal and EU level through concrete, regionally tailored actions.
